We are looking for a motivated and reliable Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for managing all accounting, bookkeeping, tax, and payroll functions for a portfolio of clients. Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations
Prepare and submit VAT returns via eFiling in accordance with SARS requirements
Process end-to-end payroll for clients, including salaries, wages, deductions, leave, and employee benefits
Submit monthly EMP201 returns and manage payroll compliance (PAYE, UIF, SDL)
Assist with preparation of management accounts and supporting schedules
Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures
Liaise with clients on day-to-day accounting and financial queries
Support the preparation of annual financial statements where required
Ensure all work is completed within agreed client deadlines
Maintain client files and records in line with firm standards
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum qualifications:

Matric (Grade 12) with Accounting
Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification (ICB, National Diploma in Accounting, BCom, or equivalent)
Minimum 1–3 years' bookkeeping or junior accounting experience (practice environment preferred)

Technical skills:

Proficiency in accounting software — Xero, Sage, or similar (essential)
Payroll software experience — Sage Payroll, SimplePay, or equivalent
Working knowledge of SARS eFiling (VAT, PAYE submissions)
Solid understanding of South African tax and payroll legislation
Competent in Microsoft Excel
